CeMeNEMBA NEEDS YOUR HELP – VOLUNTEER TODAY!
As a small nonprofit, we have no paid employees. That means that all of the work we do is done by volunteers. We are always looking for people to help us out in a wide variety of capacities both in the office and on the trails. Some of our volunteer opportunities are event based and some are ongoing.
If you work for a larger company check with your HR Department for information on their volunteer hours matching program.
Here are just a few of the ways you can donate your time to CeMeNEMBA:
Give a Little Love to the Trails You Love to Ride… Volunteer for a TNT!
Last year, CeMeNEMBA donated 800+ volunteer hours to build and maintain 55+ miles of trails in Central Maine.
For 2017 we are changing our TNT’s to once a month, AND we will host as many as 4 projects simultaneously! By the numbers, we could be twice as effective with our trail care series and give even more love to trail systems around our region. Our hope is that more people will get engaged in trail building when they have opportunities close to home/work to help out. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, experience or fitness level. Bring your friends and family – and a willingness to get dirty – and we’ll supply the tools and know-how!

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT ON A TNT?
To spend a few hours getting dirty in the woods with some fun folks. 🙂
Every TNT is different. Sometimes it’s just trimming back the brush to make sure trails don’t get overgrown. Sometimes it’s moving rocks and dirt to create better drainage or build new trail. Other times it’s cutting out downed trees. Or a combination of all this and more.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR OR BRING TO A TNT?
Recommended:
- Long Pants
- Long Sleeves
- Sturdy Boots or Shoes
- Work Gloves (Gardening gloves w/ a good grip work well)
- Water
- Lunch/Snacks
Optional:
- Protective eyewear with clear lenses,
- Rain jacket
- Gaiters
Plus your kids, your dog, and a great attitude!
No need to bring your own tools, unless you have a favorite. Please feel free to contact your crew leader with any questions.
CAN MY GROUP, ORGANIZATION OR EMPLOYEES COME OUT?
Absolutely! We’d love to have you, and are happy to schedule a special work party for your group if there isn’t one on the calendar that works for you.
CAN’T MAKE IT TO A WORK PARTY? SUPPORT OUR TRAIL WORK WITH A DONATION!
Your support helps pay for tools, material, supplies, Advocacy Action Alert mailings, snacks for work parties, and many other things.

Event Staffing – CeMeNEMBA puts on a variety of events throughout the year. We also regularly have information tables at other organization’s events. And we need people to help! These volunteer positions typically last anywhere from a couple hours to a full day.
Graphic Design – Are you a professional graphic designer willing to devote a few hours of your time to making CeMeNEMBA look great? We regularly have posters, flyers, t-shirts and event graphic that need designing.
Office Support – While not as glamorous as some jobs, office and admin work are critical to our success as an organization. Whether it’s data entry, phone calling, organizing or other admin work, it all keeps CeMeNEMBA running smooth. Often you can do the work from your own home.
Event Planning – CeMeNEMBA puts on events a variety of events throughout the year including Tread Fest, our annual spring social, kids events, races, fundraisers and more.
